VCH Moving to a New Location in May

Maryville, Tennessee [For Sunday Release—March 31, 2013] Vienna Coffee House, a popular coffee shop and music venue located on High Street in Maryville, will close temporarily while construction is completed on its new location at 212 College Street. The Vienna Coffee Company roasting operation will remain in full operation. “Due to scheduling challenges we have to close our current retail location sooner than we hoped or planned for,” said owner John Clark. “Beginning Easter Sunday, we will be closed for a few weeks while the remodeling of our new building is completed. We look forward to welcoming our loyal customers to our new location just a few blocks from our current one and invite new coffee aficionados to check us out in late May.” In the meantime, bags of whole bean and ground Vienna Coffee will be available at the Vienna Coffee Roastery, 106 Everett Ave. in Maryville. Vienna Coffee beans are also conveniently available at The Horn of Plenty Marketplace, The Market at Washington and High, Kroger and several other retailers in Blount, Knox and Sevier Counties.

A full service drive-thru window and an expanded live music venue are on tap when the Vienna Coffee Company opens in its new location. The 10-year old locally owned company has been operating from two locations—the wholesale roastery business on Everett Avenue and the Vienna Coffee House on High Street. Clark announced in February that he purchased the former Maryville Furniture Store/ Habitat for Humanity Re-Store building in downtown Maryville and plans to consolidate his business into the one 18,000 sq. ft. location.

“Our business has expanded to the point that we have outgrown our current roastery building,” said Clark. “We had been looking for an opportunity to consolidate our operations and finding this location next to Dandy Lions Boutique allows us to offer our customers a better coffeehouse experience.”

The new Coffee House will be on the main level of the three story building and will offer expanded space for individuals and groups to enjoy a full array of coffee-based drinks, teas, pastries, quiches and other treats along with a live music venue and free Wi-Fi. New features of the Coffee House include comfortable seating for 100 on the main level, a 500 sq. ft. conference room for small groups and business meetings, the full-service drive-thru window and an open-air patio with café tables overlooking Pistol Creek and the Green Belt. In addition, the new location will serve as a retail outlet for whole bean and ground varieties of Vienna Coffee, home coffee brewing hardware, gift baskets and other related items.

Looking to continue growing his wholesale business, Clark is installing his two existing roasters on the bottom level, with space for two additional roasters and additional packaging lines on site. Plans for the 6,000 square foot top level of the building are not yet developed; however Clark said that there is potential for event, meeting, and retail or office space.
